Living life in Technicolour

Ok, if you know me, you’ll know that I seem to have this thing about not wearing black?  Want me to tell you why?

  • Black is boring!  It’s not a colour, but an absence of colour
  • Black near the face or as an all over colour can be draining and ageing for a lot of people – apart from those with dark hair and dark eyes
  • Black gives off vibes of authority and distance: think about the predominant colours in a courtroom.  Policemen, barristers, judges (although they do liven things up a bit with some colour) all wear black – and do you feel warm and fuzzy when you’re around them?
  • Black fabrics can be very variable in quality (some look decidedly cheap) and pick up lots of lint
  • Black may be worn by *everybody* else but do you want to be a sheep and follow the flock?
  • Black isn’t the only colour available to buy in the shops – you only think it is because your cognitive filters are set to pick it up but if you have your awareness expanded, the black will just disappear 😀

So why should you wear colours?

So there are lots of reasons why you should step out of your comfort zone and start looking at clothes to wear other than black.  Of course it’s still possible for you to wear black, but try to keep it away from your face unless you have been blessed with dark hair and dark eyes.  Wear a shirt, scarf, jewellery, so that they reflect a colour onto your face that is more flattering.

And when you start wearing colours, life can get to be a lot more interesting.  Why do you think that people got so excited by Technicolor when it was introduced?

I'd love to hear your comments on this post
