And the winner is…..?

Following on from my post yesterday, here are a few outfits from the Oscars 2014 ceremony.

I know it’s all subjective, but here are my thoughts.

All of these work with the actress’ colouring except the dress that Lupita Nyong’o is wearing.  There may be a lot of positive vibes about the baby blue dress but it’s too pale for Lupita to wear.

Cate Blanchett’s dress is a great colour, but there’s something about the sleeves that I don’t like, and I don’t think it’s standout memorable.

Jennifer Lawrence looks great in the tomato red, and the peplum works with her very neat hourglass figure to create the appearance of more rounded curves.  Now, if she could just get that walking in a long dress and very high heels thing sorted….

Lady Gaga is far more subdued than I would have expected, and her dress really shows her shape well.  There’s something very Art Deco about it.  I don’t like the scarf though.  Kristin Chenoweth from Glee wore a dress that was not dissimilar but in gold which works with her skin tone.

Sandra Bullock looks good in a midnight blue to suit her Deep colouring.  The gathering at the waist takes the eye directly to her waist – although, sadly, it looks like the dress hasn’t taken

And Goldie Hawn’s dress is a beautiful colour for her, a great shape to emphasise the hourglass, and makes a good attempt at disguising her upper arms which is frequently an issue for women as we age.

So, what do you think?  Who wore your favourite outfits (and the worst outfits)?  Leave a comment 😀

I'd love to hear your comments on this post
