Have your “Colours Done” for FREE!

Colour Analysis or "having your colours done" is something that most women have heard of at some point.  Many have had colour analysis some time ago when it first launched in the UK in the 80's and became popular in the 90's, and have lived by the principles since then.

Boden Expanding? Good news for the Natural Style Personality

I was quite excited to see the headline online that Boden are planning to expand by opening some shops across the UK. I only hope that they're not just going to be based in London which is the case with some other clothing shops that I really love.

Buying Clothes from the Supermarket

Most women I know have bought some clothes from the supermarket when they've been shopping for the groceries, or when they have a need for an item of clothing quickly.

How much is too much to spend on a handbag?

I was attending a ladies only networking meeting last week and towards the end, one of the ladies got up to leave.  She reached for her handbag, which was like a black giraffe pattern, and this attracted some admiring comments.  "I love it!  My Mum thinks it's ridiculous that I spent over £100 on a bag but I use it all the time and I think it was worth it".  Given that I have a bit of an expensive handbag addiction, I thought £100 wasn't very much and I did wonder how much is too much to spend on a handbag you use everyday.

High Heels on the Red Carpet

I've been astounded this week to find that women are *supposed* to wear high heels on the red carpet.  At the Cannes Film Festival ushers to the event have been turning women away from walking the red carpet because they had the temerity to be wearing flat shoes.  That included older women and an amputee!  The organisers say that high heels are not part of the official dress code on the red carpet, but I can't imagine the ushers would take it into their heads to turn women away if it hadn't been a directive by somebody in authority.

How old am I?

If I knew more about Google Analytics, I might know whether the search term I saw pop up on this website from a visitor was because somebody was trying to find out about me, or whether it was about another Gillian Lewis (maybe Gillian Lewis, the English Character actress who I think may have been the inspiration for me being called Gillian): "How old is Gillian Lewis".

Don’t listen to your Negative Self-Talk

One of the most debilitating, confidence-sapping things we can do is to listen to our own Negative Self-Talk.  It's a key theme that I use in my work with clients.
