Winners on the Red Carpet?

So tonight is Oscars night, and what’s the thing that everybody remembers about the Oscars?  The films, the winners – or the dresses?

A fabulous infographic has been created by Mediarun Digital showing the dresses worn by all of the winners of Best Actress since 1929 and what a collection of styles it shows:

I think the one that stands out for me is Halle Berry’s dress, although I do remember Gwynneth Paltrow (mostly because of the speech) and Julia Roberts (because there was a BBC programme with Paul Heiney, I think, making a dress that was a virtual copy).

However, some of the dresses that we remember most are the ones which stood out for all the wrong reasons.

Cher was memorable – and may have been a bit chilly in these two dresses:

And Bjork?  Well, it fitted with her personality – in much the same was as everything that Lady Gaga wears no longer shocks us.
So which dresses do you remember most – and who are you hoping will win tonight?  Leave a comment below 😀

I'd love to hear your comments on this post

I help clients become happier and more confident by giving them a Makeover from the Inside Out to change their internal and external view of themselves.

I'm not really interested in fashion, just what clothes can do for your self-image - that's where the Forget Fashion blog title originated, so I won't be doing much commentary on the latest catwalk styles.Instead, I write about things I come across in life that make me reflect.Sometimes it's serious.Sometimes it's just fun.Hopefully you'll like my writing style, find what I write about interesting and enjoy the experience. If you do, share the love using the boxes below - thank you 😀
